Msu holiday christmas card

For this project we were tasked with designing a holiday Christmas card for the MSU president. Meeting directly with the university president and his family, we were able to interview them for what they wanted to see in a Christmas card. For the project I had came up with the design pictured below, and was awarded 200 dollars for my design.

Building a gingerbread house captures the joy of the holidays few other activities can. The warmth of a crackling fire illuminating the space as your imagination runs wild, recreating a snowy winter landscape from within the comfort of your own home.

This holiday card recreates that feeling through this scene of Champ carefully constructing a gingerbread model of Montana hall. This card captures a feeling of a landscape within a landscape, combining the feeling of a cold dramatic outside, juxtaposed with a warm and cozy inside. With shading throughout the entire piece to emphasize the light of the fire.

The Imagery speaks for itself, and the use of text would dictate what this scene means to the audience instead of letting the audience decide what it means for themselves. The main color choices on the gingerbread men reflect the color palette of the MSU colors further reinforcing the idea that this is a diorama of a Campus landscape. With Champ constructing the structure currently representing the fact that Montana students have the power to create their own future.
